Tip of the Day - 17 May, 2012

The Three Sisters

Native American Indians came up with a fantastic, symbiotic way of growing sweetcorn, climbing beans and squashes together - the beans use the sweetcorn plants as a climbing frame but in return offer nitrogen in the soil to the beans. The squashes grow along the ground and suppress weeds for the other two. The name for this? The Three Sisters!! Read Michael Foxes fantastic article on how to do it: http://www.giyireland.com/article/58/the-three-sisters
