Together We Grow!
If you need help, the answer to your question is likely to be found on this page.
How do I form a GIY group?
We are currently developing GIY groups in almost every county in Ireland. If you are interested in becoming a local champion for GIY Ireland, we can give you all the information and help you need to establish a GIY group in your area. Be part of something incredible! Contact info@giyireland.com for more information.
Why does GIY Ireland have sponsors and patrons?
GIY Ireland is a not-for-profit initiative and we do not charge people for meetings or membership. Though the GIY groups themselves are run voluntarily by our local champions, the organisation itself requires a full time effort to coordinate and run. That means we need to bring in revenue to fund ourselves. As a charity however we can not charge people for membership (though we will be looking at a donation based “Friends of GIY” scheme next year) which means that we rely on partners in the public, private and philanthropy sector to keep the show on the road. This model is a well established one for charities and one we are happy to embrace. We simply could not do the work we do, without the support of our sponsors and indeed the valuable work that our patrons do in helping us to spread the word about this vital initiative. We are entirely grateful to our sponsors - they have come on board and injected substantial funds without which we would not have achieved what we have achieved to date - nor would we be able to achieve what we plan to achieve in the future.
How does someone join their own GIY group?
When someone joins the website, they have the chance to fill out what their local group is. This comes in the form of a drop-down menu and once they select their group (in your case Armagh) they are automatically assigned. Alternatively, and after they have signed in, they can go to profile > edit profile information > and choose the location tab. This will give them the same choice.
How can I delete my account?
If you are aboslutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can do so here. Please note that your account will be permanently deleted and irrecoverable!
